Dashboard Guide
The Dashboard is your central hub in Audio Audit. It provides quick access to all major features and an overview of your podcast quality metrics for the workspace you're in.
Dashboard Layout
The Dashboard is organised into cards:
- Generate Report — Analyse a podcast feed or an uploaded file
- Latest Reports — Your three most recent reports
- Podcasts — Scores over time for your shows
- Team Members — Who is in the workspace
- Enhance Audio — Enhance an uploaded file (shown if you're allowed to enhance audio)
- Latest Enhancements — Your most recent enhancements
- Credits — Your balance, monthly allowance and top-ups
A card whose title ends in an arrow is a link: click Latest Reports, Podcasts, Team Members or Latest Enhancements to open the full page.
Generating Reports
The Generate Report card offers two ways to analyse audio, one above the other. When custom standards are enabled, a "Check against" control at the top of the card shows which standard the report will be judged against (the workspace default unless you pick another) and applies to both ways. Owners and Admins can also create a new standard from it, up to the workspace's limit of 10 custom standards. See Standards.
Search for a podcast
- Type a show's name, or paste its RSS feed URL, into the search box
- Pick the show from the list
- Audio Audit analyses the newest episode in the feed — the report starts a few seconds after you choose, and appears under Latest Reports
If your plan's podcast slots are all in use, a note under the search box says so. Reports on a new show will be blocked, but your existing shows keep working.
Upload a file
- Drag MP3, M4A, WAV or FLAC files onto the drop area, or click it to choose them — each file can be up to 255MB
- Audio Audit shows the total length of audio and the estimated cost in credits
- The report is judged against the standard shown in Check against at the top of the card (when custom standards are enabled)
- Click Upload and analyze to start, or Cancel
Upload Best Practices:
- Ensure stable internet for large files
- Upload final, edited versions — exported as you'd publish them
- Include proper metadata before uploading
If you're a Member of an organisation, what you see here depends on your permissions. Adding a new podcast needs an Owner or Admin, and uploading a file needs the "Run reports" workspace permission. If you have neither, the card explains that reports are started from each podcast's own page — see Roles and Permissions.
Latest Reports
Your three most recent reports in this workspace. Click any row to open the full report.
Each row shows the episode or file name with its artwork, the length of the audio and when the report was created, and its status:
- Passed (a green tick) or Failed (a red cross) — the verdict against the report's standard, decided by its Required checks. Next to it is the percentage of checks passed, with a small bar split into passes, Required failures and other failures. See Understanding Reports
- Processing — a spinner, with an estimate of the time remaining
- Not enough credits — a red block icon; the report wasn't processed because the workspace ran out of credits
Podcasts
Up to 20 of your shows, each with its colour, alongside a graph of their scores:
- Historical scores: One line per podcast, in its colour, plotting the percentage score of each report
- Highlighting: Hover over a podcast's name to pick out its line on the graph
- Automatic checking: A sparkle icon marks shows that Audio Audit checks for new episodes automatically
- Settings: The pencil icon opens the podcast's settings page
Click a podcast's name for its detailed reports and performance — see Podcast Details.
Team Members
In an organisation workspace, this card lists everyone in the workspace with their picture and name. People who haven't accepted their invitation yet are marked "Invite sent".
To invite someone, click the Team Members title to open Settings → Team members, then Invite team member — see Managing Team Members.
In your personal workspace the card explains how to collaborate instead: switch to an organisation with the workspace switcher, or create one if you don't belong to any.
Enhance Audio and Latest Enhancements
Enhance Audio lets you upload a file and enhance it — noise reduction, compression, loudness normalisation, metadata and chapters — without running a report first. Latest Enhancements lists your three most recent enhancements. See Enhancing Audio for what each option does.
Credits
The Credits card shows what the workspace has left to spend:
- Balance: Your credits remaining, and roughly how many hours of standard analysis that covers
- Remaining bar: Fills from the left like a battery — any top-ups in a lighter shade, then what's left of this month's allowance; the empty track on the right is what you've used
- 🟢 Green: you've used 70% or less of the credits you've held this period
- 🟡 Amber: over 70% used
- 🔴 Red: over 90% used
- Top-ups count as credits you still hold, so a used-up allowance only turns the bar red once your top-ups are running low too
- Allowance: Your monthly allowance — "plan" on a subscription, "free allowance" on the free plan — and the date it next renews or resets
- Top-ups: One line for each top-up you hold, with its remaining credits and the date it expires (12 months after purchase)
If you can manage billing — you own the organisation, or you're in your personal workspace — click the Credits title to open Settings → Billing and plans.
If the last payment for a subscription failed, a warning appears above the balance. Owners get a link to update the payment method; everyone else is asked to let an Owner know. See Billing & Plans.
Workspace switcher
Located in the header, next to the Audio Audit logo, on every page — and at the top of the workspace section in Settings:
The switcher
- Current workspace: Shows the workspace you're in
- Dropdown menu: Switch between:
- Your personal workspace (your name, marked Personal)
- Organisation workspaces
- New organisation, to create one
- Visual indicator: A person icon for your personal workspace, a building icon for organisations
Switching Impact
- The dashboard shows only that workspace's podcasts, reports, enhancements and credits
- The Team Members card only lists people in an organisation
- Credits and billing belong to the workspace; in an organisation only Owners can manage billing
Onboarding Tour
When you first reach the dashboard after registering or accepting an invitation, a short tour walks you through it:
Tour Highlights
- How did you hear about us?: An optional question for new accounts
- Workspace switcher: Where organisations you're invited to appear
- Generate Report: Searching, pasting a feed URL or uploading a file
- Latest Reports: Where new reports show up

The tour only runs once.
Dashboard Best Practices
Daily Use
- Check latest reports for completed analyses
- Monitor your credits to avoid surprises
- Review podcast performance trends
Monthly Activities
- Review overall quality improvements
- Assess plan suitability
- Clean up podcasts you no longer need to monitor
Staying Up to Date
- While a report or enhancement is processing, the dashboard updates itself every 10 seconds
- Otherwise it refreshes every 10 minutes while the tab is visible, and straight away when you come back to it
- The full history is on the Reports page
Troubleshooting
Common Issues
"Dashboard not updating"
- Check internet connection
- Try manual browser refresh
"Missing podcasts"
- Verify the correct workspace is selected
- Check the podcast belongs to that workspace
- As a Member, you only see podcasts you've been added to
"Can't invite team members"
- Only Owners and Admins can invite people
- Check you're in an organisation workspace
- Check your plan has a free team seat — pending invitations count
"Remaining bar showing red"
- Normal when over 90% of your allowance is used
- Consider upgrading your plan or buying a top-up
- Turn automatic checking off temporarily for shows you don't need monitored
Mobile Experience
The Dashboard works on any screen size:
- Cards stack into a single column
- The header keeps the workspace switcher, an icon-only Dashboard button and the gear menu (Settings, your profile, organisations and Log out)
- Settings opens as a list of sections; tap one, and use ‹ Settings to go back
