Welcome to the site of Audio Audit — a new tool that we’ve been developing since the start of December (~2.5 months). It is built initially for podcasters but will also be useful for audiobook producers and publishers too.
The main use case is that it will be a last step automated checking and proofing before an audio file gets published to feeds and listeners. It will produce a score and report for you about what it found and assist in resolving any warnings.
Some of the issues we detect and highlight so far are:
- Restarted sentences
- Missing metadata
- Volume outside recommended range
- Too long or short silences
- Encoding and compression quality
- Swear words (in case you want to bleep them out)
We’ll soon be letting a small number of podcasters beta test our software so that we can ensure it works well in the real world and make adjustments where necessary. We’ll also have a form soon so that others can sign-up the the waiting list and get priority access.
