This past weekend I returned again to the IPS Pro-Audio Show which was held this year at the London South Bank University near Elephant and Castle. Last year’s show was good and convinced me to hire a stall for Audio Audit this year.
The audience is made up of audio engineers working in the TV, radio, theatre and film industries. There was much more space, better lighting and more attendees this year. There were a good selection of talks as well — although I didn’t manage to get to any unfortunately. Thanks to the organisers for putting on a great show and I’m already looking forward to next years’.
I would guess there were over 50 stalls at this show presenting audio hardware (like mixers and microphones), accessories (like wind shields), and services (such as hire and legal). There was only one other software company that I was aware of but this meant that lots of people were interested in chatting as we were a bit different.
Feedback was positive overall and I made some good connections. There appears to be interest from the radio sector as they get fined by Ofcom and other regulators for loudness levels and swearing on recorded shows. It will be interesting to talk to any others working in the space — if you are or know anyone in the space, please reach out.
